We put some wood round the bottom of the cage for the little guys so that they’d stop kicking out so much bedding. They’ve enjoyed chewing it. -_-

They’re about 16cm long plus tail, although they can stretch quite far (when there’s some food they want to reach). The little guys weigh around 230g and the big guys weigh around 300g. Photographed below: Thomas and Daniel.

Chinchillas are bigger than degus, longer as well as rounder. They don’t particularly have rodent-y smell the way some other rodents do, they don’t really smell so long as their cage is cleaned out on time.
