Exotic Petblr–I need your help!

lil-hamilton:

vet-and-wild:

I really want to put together a list of exotic pet resources for reference. If you are an exotic pet owner and would like your blog included on this list, I would appreciate it if you could reblog this with a statement of whatever species you own. Please also reblog with names of other blogs, websites, books, papers, etc that you think are good resources to be included on this list! Invertebrates, small mammals, herps, birds (including pigeons and backyard chickens), fish, and pot bellied pigs are all examples of species that I would love to include on this list. I won’t include cats, dogs, horses, or livestock on this list (not because I don’t love them though!) but if you have a species other than what I listed, please let me know!

Experienced Hamster owner and fancier here! Also have a leopard gecko at @mudkip-the-geck, though I’m still a little new to the reptile world. I also keep bugs!

Degus! 🐀

The introductions between Tobias and the pups have gone really well. While they were in separate cages they showed interest in each other but no aggression, during their first face to face meeting in neutral territory Ben and Zach were both submissive to Tobias and again there were no signs of aggression. They’ve been in a cage together all afternoon and after a lot of mounting and other dominance behaviour they huddled up together. The whole process has gone smoothly, I was really nervous about putting Tobias and the pups together because Tobias is huge but he’s accepted Ben and Zach. Hopefully things will remain calm as the pups approach puberty, but at least for now things are looking good and Tobias doesn’t have to be alone any more.

If the degus could vote it would take them 3 minutes 20 seconds to run to the polling station (according to google maps it’s a 5 minute walk for a human).

Although the degus would have registered for a postal vote as you can’t trust the weather in the UK and they would want to avoid rain.

Daniel would like to take a moment to talk about how delicious puffed rice is, very tasty, definitely worth sitting still long enough to take a photo for. He doesn’t really care about what PHP Yorkshire is, he just wants treats, but maybe some humans would be interested? PHP Yorkshire is a one day PHP conference taking place in York on Saturday 8th April. There will be 13 speakers and, most importantly, food. Find out more here: https://www.phpyorkshire.co.uk

Signal boosting would be appreciated, only 2.5 weeks to go!
