Daniel loves his heat pad and every day he comes straight over and lies down on it as soon as I give it to him

Then a few minutes later he’ll be lying on the shelf above it or in the hammock like yes, I love it, but it’s just too warm right now

Every. Single. Day.

please share this so people are aware this toy is NOT SAFE.

Please be very very careful when buying toys for your birds, just because its labelled as a bird toy does not make it safe because unfortunately some companies care more about making money than the welfare of our animals.

Oh shit, I HAVE this toy! I got it from amazon. Maple wont go near it, thank god. And now its going in the trash.

Yikes! For any birb followers or those who use birb toys for their critters!

Hi!!! Would you mind telling what treats you give to your lovely, beautiful degus? I want ideas for mine!!! Ty in advance!!!πŸ’–πŸ’—πŸ’•πŸ’–

Hi! The main treat my guys get is puffed rice (which can be found in the free from section in supermarkets or in health food shops). Other treats they get less frequently include pop corn (air popped and plain), sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, beetroot flakes, pea flakes and hazelnuts (max 1 nut per month).

In addition to their usual nuggets, seeds, dried plants and hay they also regularly get fresh herbs/veg. Their favourites are dill and beetroot (if you haven’t given them beetroot before be aware that it colours their pee – no need to panic if it’s looking a bit redder for a day).

Let me know what your degus make of their new treats!! πŸ’•
