Good news at the vet’s today! The infection on Daniel’s leg has cleared up; there was worry that it wouldn’t as an infection in a tumour is less likely to and there’s a possiblity of the centre becoming necrotic.

What I thought might be the cancer spreading internally was just a testicle, which is what I was hoping. What was confusing me was the fact I could only feel one but apparently this is quite normal, they’re internal and can move around.

For the time being Daniel is doing well, but he’s still a geriatric degu with cancer.

One of the other degus somehow managed to knock this stick out of the cage; Daniel says it’s his now. He’s made quick progress destroying it even though he’s ignored the one in his own cage.

Every time I get closer to him to take a photo he stops chewing the stick and chitters his teeth at me. Don’t worry little goo, I’m not here to steal your stick, just immortalise your enjoyment of it!
